After I accepted my boyfriend’s wedding proposal, I was only worried about one thing- the hen party. I knew that the two of us would help create a memorable wedding, but I wanted my final night of freedom to be extra special. I left it in the hands of my best friend, who I knew would create a memorable evening, but I had no idea what her plans would be for during the day. She’s great at organising nights out, but how were we going to spend the day before we hit the town?
My best friend knows that I’m not into the typical feminine stuff. I’m much happier taking part in different sports and adrenaline fuelled activities than I am going for a spa day, so she would definitely be tailoring the activities towards my needs. The only problem would be choosing something I’d love that the entire gang would love to take part in; I’d be the only person in the group interested in paintball, or sky diving, so they definitely wouldn’t be on the menu.
As the hen party approached, I found out that we were going for a day zorbing. This wasn’t a typical hen party- but I’m not your typical bride to be! All the girls were happy with this choice; they didn’t realise how adrenaline fuelled and action packed zorbing could be, so they were in for a big surprise. I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off my final 24 hours of freedom than climbing in a hamster ball and speeding really fast down a steep hill. It might not be everybody’s idea of fun, but I knew I was going to love it before we even arrived.
My best friend had booked with Roll Mania and had selected a harness zorbing package for everybody. There were plenty of other zorbing activities to choose from- I definitely wanted to return to take part in the aqua zorbing, but the girls definitely wouldn’t want to spend an afternoon rolling in chilly water! Luckily, they couldn’t wait to get into the hamster balls for this activity. I was surprised how eager they were to take part; none of my friends seem to love these action sports like I do, so I was really happy with how much they wanted to be a part of the fun.
When we got to the site, the staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make the hen experience the best possible. Of course, I loved my time in the zorb- but the biggest surprise was how much my friends loved it too! After always being sceptical of adventure sports, when they finally took part they were eager to come back and try again. They even want to see what aqua zorbing is like, so I’ll definitely be joining them again. I might have a new husband, but this seems like the perfect excuse for another girls night out for the lot of us.
Roll Mania helped my hen party come to a brilliant start, creating memories I will cherish forever. I will definitely be booking with them again; me and the girls can’t wait!
