I was the happiest man in the world when my girlfriend said yes to my marriage proposal, but from that moment, my nerves kicked in. I’m not talking about the wedding day- I’m talking about having the perfect stag night arranged for me! My best mate originally promised a weekend abroad for the stag celebrations, but as the whole gang couldn’t afford it, we just decided to get out of our home town for a couple of days and have a cracking time in a big city.

The evening entertainment was sorted, as the gang were under strict orders to only choose a city that was famous for having lots of night life. The only problem was thinking of something to do during the day- and I had no idea what my best man was going to come up with. This was going to be my last day of freedom before marriage, so it needed to be something great. I wasn’t going to settle for a long walk, or a trip to the city centre!

We all laughed when we found out the best man had arranged for us to all go zorbing, after booking with Roll Mania. Climbing into a giant hamster ball and rolling down a hill wasn’t the way I was expecting to spend the last day before my wedding, but none of us could deny it sounded fun! As the day of the stag grew closer, I became more and more excited to take part in the experience- and none of my mates could either. I was as excited to take part in the head spinning mayhem as I was to tie the knot the next day: just don’t tell that to my wife!

When we arrived at the zorbing site, none of us could wait to take part. When the staff found out that we’d booked this as part of a stag weekend, they made sure to cater the event specifically to our needs- they were really friendly and loved taking part in the stag weekend banter with us. When we finally got into the zorbs, it was one of the most exhilarating moments of my life. I honestly wasn’t expecting to love it as much as we did. The guys all agreed when we got to the bottom of the hill that we wanted to get back to the top and roll down yet again.

After the stag weekend, I went back on Roll Mania to check out the other different types of zorbing available. I’ve booked to go again to take part in an aqua zorbing experience, this time taking my wife along with me- I can’t thank my best man enough for introducing me to the sport. I’ve definitely caught the zorbing bug now and can’t wait to share the thrills with more people- so I’m sure I’ll be booking with Roll Mania plenty more times in the future.
